Weiss, Alden & Polo, P.A. is proud to announce that one of our firm's founding partners, Christine Alden, was recently appointed incoming President of the British American Business Council in Miami for 2017 and 2018.
Ms. Alden, who has served as Director of BABC Miami for the last two years, will formally assume the duties of the presidency from outgoing President Alan Georgeson at the upcoming AGM hosted by the British Consul General Mr. Dave Prodger at the British Consulate General in Miami on the evening of January 19, 2017.
"I am truly honored to have been elected to serve as President of BABC for 2017-2018. I am thankful to the Board and our members for their faith and trust in my ability to lead the organization," said Ms. Alden. "I look forward to taking the group to new heights over the next couple of years including strengthening our network and building solid business relationships among our members."
With 22 chapters and more than 2,000 member companies located in business centers across the United Kingdom and North America, the BABC is the world's largest transatlantic business network.
Since 1985, BABC Miami has worked alongside the regional offices of HM Consul General and UK Trade & Investment to facilitate the exchange of commerce, business, information and education between South Florida, the UK and Latin America.
In recognition of the increasing importance of the South Florida region as an international commercial center, BABC Miami's role has expanded in recent years to encompass business development between the UK and Latin America.
